This page explains what Bargain Basket does with your personal information when you use this website. Bargain Basket is a discount grocery store at 2650 Cameron Park Dr, Suite 140, Cameron Park, CA. We sell online for local pickup only.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, billing address, what you ordered, and the amount you paid.
If you create an account: your name, email address, and your order history. Creating an account is optional. You can check out as a guest.
If you tick the marketing box: your email address, so we can tell you about deals and new arrivals. Leaving it unticked does not affect your order.
Automatically: the store you chose to collect from, what is in your basket, and the ordinary technical information every website receives, such as your IP address and browser.
Why we need it
- To pick, pack and hand over your order.
- To reach you if something you ordered has sold out before we packed it. We will text, then call.
- To take payment and, where necessary, issue a refund.
- To keep the records a business is required to keep.
- To send marketing email, but only if you asked for it.
Your card details
We never see or store your card number. Payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal, who process your card details on their own systems. Each has its own privacy policy, and we suggest you read whichever one you use.
Who else sees your information
Only those who need it to get your order to you: our payment providers, the company that hosts this website, and the service that sends our email. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.
We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Account details are kept until you ask us to close your account. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any message, or by contacting us. California residents have these rights under state law, and we will not treat you differently for using them.
